EDI (Electrodeionization) ultra-pure water equipment is a technology that utilizes a combination of electrochemical reaction and ion exchange technology. The principle is that under the action of electric field, the ions in water are separated, so as to achieve the deionization of water and produce high-purity ultra-pure water.
Compared with the traditional mixed bed ion exchange equipment, it saves the use of chemical agents and the cost of follow-up treatment. Since the electric field is provided through the electrodes, EDI ultra-pure water equipment also does not require additional energy supply, saving energy consumption.
However, the initial investment of the EDI ultra-pure water equipment is higher than that of the mixed bed, and the feed water quality requirements are relatively high, which affects the service life of the EDI module, and some parts need to be replaced regularly.
