MBR Membrane Description:

Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) is an advanced wastewater treatment technology used to extract liquid from a suspended growth activated sludge system. The MemPulse™ MBR process replaces the secondary clarifiers typically used in conventional waste treatment methods for solid/liquid separation.

The MBR process involves a suspended growth activated sludge system that incorporates microporous flat sheet membranes in modules for solid/liquid separation. The flat sheet membranes are mounted vertically in modules and are submerged into the activated sludge tank. Vacuum is applied to the permeate manifold and this draws water from the reactor-side to the inside of the flat sheet membranes and out of the system. The MBR process eliminates the need for secondary clarifiers.

Cleaning fluid preparation concentration

When the membrane is organically contaminated, soak it in 0.5 % concentration NaClO solution for 4 to 6 hours. The cleaning solution preparation quantity is: 3 L / element; when the membrane is contaminated by oil or inorganic scaling, please refer to "Chemical cleaning of Membrane Modules" for details on the treatment method in section 8.
